The Story

The Abore station lies high in the Bensa district of Sidama, between 1,920 and 2,020 meters above sea level. Managed by Asefa Dukamo Korma, it serves over 1,000 smallholder farmers who bring in cherries from the surrounding highlands.

Named after a nearby bridge built in 1997, Abore has become a vital hub for quality-focused production in southern Ethiopia. The farmers grow local varieties 74110 and 74112, and during harvest season, cherries are slowly dried in the sun, allowing the natural process to highlight the coffee’s rich, berry-like sweetness and floral notes.
