The Story

There's a quiet revolution happening in Vietnam's Central Highlands, and Zanya's double washed Arabica is proof. Grown at 1500-1650 meters in the Langbiang Mountains of Lam Dong Province, this limited offering from Greater Goods Roasting showcases what happens when meticulous processing meets exceptional terroir. Founded by Marián and Lim—partners in life and coffee—Zanya takes its name from a word symbolizing strength and femininity, honoring the K'ho and Montagnard women central to their community.

While Vietnam is globally known for Robusta production, Zanya represents a new generation rewriting that narrative through careful experimentation and transparent practices. This lot undergoes a rare double washing process—the beans are washed twice, extending processing time but delivering extraordinary clarity and brightness in the cup.

Tasting Notes

Expect a smooth, layered experience with notes of maple syrup, umeboshi plum, and port wine. The double wash process creates remarkable clarity, allowing each flavor to emerge distinctly without competing. The body is medium and silky, with a balanced acidity that brightens without overwhelming. The finish lingers pleasantly with a subtle sweetness reminiscent of dried fruit and caramelized sugar.

Brew Methods

This coffee excels across multiple methods. As pour over (V60, Kalita Wave), the double wash clarity really shines, highlighting the delicate fruit and wine notes. In a French press, expect fuller body with the maple character taking center stage. It also performs beautifully as filter espresso or on a Flair, where the port wine complexity becomes more pronounced. We recommend starting with a medium grind and adjusting to taste—the clean processing makes it forgiving and versatile.

About Greater Goods Roasting
